Fort Niagra, New York
History is a dogs best friend... and normally provides really cool places to explore and hike. Fort Niagra is nestled on the banks of Lake Ontario and the Niagra River. A fort built in the late 1700's, Fort Niagra has housed French, British and American Troops in its log history. Once a Civil War prison camp... Fort Niagra is now a wonderful tourist attraction that happens to be DOG FRIENDLY!! Well worth the drive north from Niagra Falls. I give Fort Niagra 8 out of 10 Paws on the Sophie Fun Scale.
